Refreshing Kenya
We arrived in Kenya a week and a half ago and it has been so refreshing! The move went really well although it was extremely hard to say goodbye to the wonderful people in Busia that we had built relationships with. We are staying in Suba district in Kenya in the town of Mbita right on lake victoria. We are staying in an old YWAM base that is gorgeous, our team has a cabbin with four bunk beds, we have traded electricity for a toilet that flushes and we all think it’s a fair trade and are happy with it. The base is called SEEK (Suba enviromental education of Kenya) so we live right in the woods with monkeys and bush babies in the trees all around us and hippos down in the lake, which is only a 5 min walk from our cabin. The people at the base are amazing, so spirit filled and friendly they are like family already! We will be doing alot of travelling around the suba district in 2 week periods and then we come back to the base to refresh so blogs will be more speratic than normal 🙂 I am so excited for ministry in Kenya we will be working alot with schools and doing house visits. We have already done some hospital visits, girl talks at schools (I felt like the Johnson and Johnson lady that came to my school when I was in Zim but it was so good!), widow ministry and I am excited for more to come.
Right now we are back in Uganda, for debrief in Jinja and tomorrow we are going rafting on the NILE!!!!! I’m so excited a bit nervous though, please pray for sun because today it’s really overcast and chilly. We go back to Kenya on the 10th and will be on outreach with our hosts in hte suba district until the 21st of Feb, so please keep my team in your prayers as we move around on outreach.
God bless, hugs and smiles from Africa
