I’m expecting to grow closer to God and to understand more of him; I think that when we begin to love the people in Africa, the ones that maybe nobody else has shown love towards, we will come to a better understanding of God’s heart for his people and who He is.
I know that this is going to be a challenge, living with a group of people, being away from home and being physically/mentally/spiritually challenged but through it all I am expecting to build amazing relationships that go beyond ordinary friends. I hope as a team we will challenge, encourage, comfort and love each other and ultimately at the end of the day know that we can really trust each other.
I am really excited about the trip although it still doesn’t feel real and hasn’t really sunk in yet. The thing that I am nervous about is the support raising; I have days when I am so confident and full of faith and then I have days where I feel overwhelmed. Lately God has been bringing me to the realization that I can’t do it but He can and I just need to let go and trust him, which is scary to do.
But most of all, I want to have fun! I know this is going to be an experience of a life time and I am excited to meet the team and to see what God has in store for us.
