White water rafting on the Nile; white more do I need to say… it was awesome! We traveled back to Uganda for debrief with the leaders of the program from AIM. It was great to get away with the team and reflect on where God has brought us and where he is taking us.
We all had a little culture shock as we drove into Adrift where we were staying. It felt like we had been lifted out of Africa and placed in America. There were so many mzungus walking around we really didn’t know what to do with ourselves. We found ourselves sticking in our group for the first few hours not sure how to interact with people from outside of Africa anymore.
On Sunday we geared up and piled into our rafts and paddled away down the Nile. It was the experience of a life time crashing over grade 5 rapids on the longest river in the world. It was so cool to look back at the rapids we had just gone down and marvel at God’s creation while staring in disbelief at what we had just gone down, (grade 5 rapids are small waterfalls that you take pictures of but never think you would raft down). It was amazing!!! I will try to post some pictures soon, we have some pretty sweet ones!
